Due to consistent growth and an ever-growing product portfolio over the past years, Durham Coca-Cola Bottling Company proudly announces plans for the construction of a new state of the art distribution facility.  The new headquarters facility will be located at the intersection of US Highway 64 and NC Highway 751 in Apex, NC.  Ground breaking is expected by 1st quarter of 2023, with occupancy in 2024.

M. Hager Rand, current President of the third-generation family bottler, has announced the news to employees and is excited to share the Company’s plans with the communities and customers in its service area.  The facility will be dedicated to his grandfather, William Kenan Rand and father W. Kenan Rand, Jr. who preceded him in running the business.

The 170,000 square foot facility is being developed in partnership with Beacon Partners, a North Carolina based commercial real estate developer. The state-of-the-art facility will feature enhanced sustainable building specifications that will yield zero landfill waste and create as little environmental impact as possible. It will also show appreciation to the current workforce and the anticipated additional jobs by having a modern, welcoming facility that fosters a safe, more efficient working environment.

The Company is a combination of acquired Coca-Cola territories in addition to Durham including Roxboro, Henderson and Sanford.  It is an independent holder of a contract for products from The Coca-Cola Company and has similar distribution rights for Dr. Pepper brands, and Monster Energy drinks.

                                                                                           FOR ADDITIONAL TERRITORY IN SANFORD, NC

 

DURHAM, NC, JULY 27, 2016 - Durham Coca-Cola Bottling Company announced today that it has signed a letter of intent to refranchise additional territory from The Coca-Cola Company.


Durham Coca-Cola plans to expand its territory into Sanford, NC. This letter of intent follows previous expansion by the company into Roxboro and Henderson, NC.

Hager Rand, Chairman and President of Durham Coca-Cola, said, “We are excited about the opportunity to partner once again with The Coca-Cola Company to expand our bottler franchise territory. We are proud that our Coca-Cola family has quenched the thirst of our market area since 1906 and will now have the opportunity to bring our brand of high quality service to those currently served by Sanford Coca-Cola.”


The letter of intent with Durham Coca-Cola is part of Coca-Cola North America’s ongoing and accelerated implementation of a 21st Century Beverage Partnership Model, a broad initiative aimed at building on system capabilities to sustain success.
